The Hike

This was my first 3D embroidered landscape – I used layers of felt sheets to build up topography and sewed on top to create little hills. I even added a little stream between the hills to make a valley! It was inspired by the soft, empty hills of Dartmoor in my home county… I find there’s something uniquely beautiful about the Moors, otherworldly and strange but still familiar.
