I so want this to last forever, but I’m scared that it just can’t (its bittersweet isn’t it?) – the Amazon

This piece is directly inspired by the Amazon rainforest – I saw images of the wiggly rivers snaking through it and fell in love! Its a 3D artwork with the hills raised and rivers deep like in real life, complete with Amazonian manatees swimming along the river. I’ve always loved the Amazon but it felt bittersweet to make this piece… I’m scared the Amazon won’t always be around what with the current rates of deforestation. I hope so bad this won’t come true! Its life and beauty and nothing else equals it to me… maybe one day I can see it for real but for now, this tiny slice of it will have to do.
