Collaboration series #4 – Landscape in pointillism

This piece is my personal favourite of the six, mainly because it’s almost entirely French knots but also because of the colour scheme! Its more unusual for a natural landscape but very effective with great contrasts. I strengthened the colours as the original felt a bit washed out and I think it works well. The photo was taken in Rimrose Valley.

ABOUT THE SERIES: Back in January 2021 I asked people to submit their aerial landscape images or associated art for me to recreate in thread. Six were finalised and I’ve spent the time since picking at them all to be released as a limited series once complete. Five of the submissions were aerial photographs and the sixth a painting. The last image is the original photo by the collaborator.
